As, you know, i make only vegetarian recipes. If some recipes has eggs, or non-veg content, then i remove those item. And make a vegetarian version of that recipe.

This recipe of fruit custard is one of it. It is made without eggs. In foreign they use eggs in it.

What is fruit custard?

Fruit custard is prepared by mixing fresh fruits in the custard sauce.

Custard sauce is prepared with milk, custard powder and sugar in it.

What can be used instead of custard powder?

If you do not have custard powder. Then do not worry.

Custard is made with corn flour, vanilla flavour and milk powder.

Use the corn flour, vanilla flavor and 3-4 teaspoon milk powder.

What fruit to add in fruit custard?

First of all, do not add sour fruit. Its taste will not go with custard.

I use apple, green grapes, black grapes, pomegranate, mango, kiwi.

You can add any fruits you like.

But avoid the fruits which have lots of water like watermelon, muskmelon etc.

Which custard flavor is best?

I use vanilla flavoured custard powder. Vanilla flavour is the most popular flavour.

But, custard flavour comes in various flavours like chocolate, butter scotch, kesar pista, kesar elaichi, stawberry flavor.

You can use any flavour which you like.

Can we make custard recipe without fruits?

Yes, you can make the custard recipe without fresh fruits.

Instead of fresh fruits, you can add dry fruits like almonds, raisins (kishmish), dates, pistachios, cashew, tutti frutti etc.

It will also taste good. And it is full of nutrients.

Sometimes for a change add dry fruits instead. So, kids will not get bored with this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoon custard powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • green grapes
  • mango
  • apple
  • Pomegranate

Instructions

  • Heat the pan and add 500 ml of milk.
  • Once the milk is heated reduce the flame to low.
  • Add 3 tablespoon milk into 2 tablespoon of custard powder and mix it well.
  • Add custard and milk mixture in the boiling milk. and keep stirring the milk.
  • Boil it for 8 to 10 minutes and keep stirring till that time.
  • Once it is semi thick, turn of the gas. And remove it in big bowl.
  • Let it cool for few hours.
  • After colling it, add chopped grapes, mango, apple and pomegranate and mix it well.
  • Keep in refrigerator to chill for 2-3 hours.
  • Serve in serving dish.

Notes

You can use cardamom powder, dry fruits like raisins (kishmish), almonds, pistachio etc. in it for extra flavour.
if the custard is too thick, then add little warm milk in it and mix it well.
